Dear Douglas and Lincoln Families,

I am pleased to welcome you to a new school year! As the principal at Douglas and Lincoln Elementary Schools, I hope this greeting finds you well and ready for a year filled with growth, learning, and exploration. As we embark on this journey together, I want to share our core priorities that will guide our community: being safe, being respectful, and being responsible. These values are not just words to us; they form the foundation of our daily interactions and experiences. We believe that creating a nurturing and secure environment is essential for our students to thrive academically and socially.

Being Safe: At Douglas and Lincoln Elementary Schools, the safety of our students is our top priority. We are committed to providing a secure environment where children can explore, learn, and express themselves without fear. We want every child to feel secure and happy while they learn and play. 

Being Respectful: Respect is at the heart of our school culture. We believe that fostering an atmosphere of kindness and understanding helps our students build strong relationships with their peers and teachers. Our curriculum incorporates lessons on empathy, conflict resolution, and appreciating diversity. By modeling respectful behavior and celebrating each child's unique qualities, we empower our students to become compassionate individuals who contribute positively to their communities.

Being Responsible: Responsibility is a key component of personal growth and development. At Douglas and Lincoln, we instill a sense of accountability in our students by encouraging them to take ownership of their actions and decisions. Through various programs and activities, we teach children the importance of following rules, being dependable, and making thoughtful choices. By promoting responsibility, we equip our students with the skills they need to navigate their academic journeys and beyond, fostering their growth into conscientious citizens.
