Preschool Programs at Douglas and Lincoln Schools.
The Clinton School district currently offers two preschool options for our youngest students; Preschool for All, and Specialized Preschool.
Both of the preschool programs use the Illinois Early Learning Standards as the framework for the development of their learning activities. The ECERS-3(Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale) is a tool used to help design classroom environment and procedures. The Preschool for All Implementation Manual from the Illinois State Board of Education provides program guidance regarding student records, and administrative requirements.
This is a classroom with up to 15 students, 10-12 who have met criteria for the Preschool for All program, 3-5 students who have met eligibility for services through the Early Childhood Special Education program, a teacher and teaching assistant. Students who are in this program will have been identified through the screening to meet Preschool for All criteria, ECSE students will have received a more in depth multidisciplinary evaluation by the special education team and must meet federal and state eligibility criteria. The ECSE students will have targeted goal areas which will be the focus of their learning program.
Teachers of the Blended Preschool are certified with Type 04 certificates and hold and endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education. These teachers have specialized training to meet the needs of all students in the program.
