Superintendent Drew Goebel
Dear Clinton Community,
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of CUSD15. The previous superintendent, Mr. Nettles, has retired, and I am honored to serve this community!
As your new Superintendent, I feel it’s important for you to know a little bit about me. I believe that when a positive relationship has been established, organizations achieve more. School districts are no different. I currently live in Clinton with my family. My wife is a teacher at CES, and my kids attend Clinton schools. I began my career teaching special education and social studies at Decatur Eisenhower High School. In 2011, I was hired to be the Assistant Principal at Clinton Junior High School and was promoted to be the Principal. For the past 6 years, I have worked with Mr. Nettles as his Assistant Superintendent.
Being active in the community has always been important to me; therefore, I have helped coach my kids' youth sports and served on various community organizations, such as the YMCA, The Vault, and Clinton Rotary. Clinton School District’s vision is to be a dynamic community partner that is dedicated to adding value through learning and student success. I will do my best to live out this mission.
Your child’s success is my number one priority! I want to help foster a partnership between parents and their child’s school to ensure their success. I also believe that encouraging students to get involved with school activities helps promote school pride that will carry over into their academic achievement. In addition, I know that regular school attendance is vital to your child’s success.
Another key component for your child’s success is strong communication between the schools and you. A good place to start is by accessing our website at www.cusd15.org. From here, there are links to the other schools with contact information. The district also has an Events Calendar, so you will know all the exciting things going on. Lastly, the district has a Facebook account at Clinton Unit School District 15, which is another way to stay connected.
Finally, I want to thank the community for this opportunity. I have worked in three other school districts, and CUSD15 is by far the very best! We have an amazing staff of caring employees here to help your child reach their greatest potential. If you ever have a question or concern, please reach out to your child’s school or even the unit office. We are here to assist you.
Thanks, and let’s have an amazing school year!
